Botanical Garden

This garden is a monument of nature and landscape architecture. Today, the botanical garden in Minsk is one of the largest botanical gardens in Europe, both in terms of collections and area. In addition, the Minsk Botanical Garden is one of the best in the post-Soviet space in terms of the composition of the collection.

The Botanical Garden in Minsk was founded in 1932.The garden was located on the territory of the former agricultural exhibition in a pine forest and originally occupied an area of 90 hectares (today - 153 hectares). The lake within the park was established in the 1960s. In 1967, the garden was given the status of a research institute of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR.

And today, outstanding biologists work in the botanical garden.There are scientific schools on plant introduction and plant ecological physiology.
